Final look of our Website

http://mirageproductions5.wix.com/mashaalaqeel

Here goes the link of our final website.

Ancillary task-Website

In order to make the "web-site" (one of the ancillary tasks) , we signed up by going on to the web-site : www.wix.com
After that we selected the category "music" and then selected singer/songwriter.
We came across many layouts and then finally selected one for our signer.

The above picture is of the web-site layout which we selected to promote our singer and her song "no promises".
After that we tried different fonts and finally selected one of the texts. We wrote "Mashaal Aqeel" with the color red since our digipak's theme is also surrounded with the red's. white's & black's and then wrote "no promises" below it with white.
We further added the other related information on the "home" page.
After adding all the "texts", we then added the music video on the "home page" as you can see and by breaking the conventions, we kept the picture of our artist in the background. The same picture we even used inside our digipak. The purpose of keeping the artists picture as the background was because we wanted our web-site to be different as compare to what web-sites singers really have.

Final look of digipack

Here is the final look of our "digi-pack".

Ancillary task-Digipack

To begin with the "ancillary task", we first picked up a "digi-pack" template from the internet.
After selecting the pictures for the "digi-pack", in  order to give it an artistic look, we used "Adobe Photoshop Cs6" version and went in the"brush strokes" where we used "crosshatch", in order to give it an artistic touch. We decided to put this picture inside the digi- packs cover.
"The selfie picture". We decided to put up this picture at the back side of the digi-pack since it is one of the most lively scenes captured and thus is a happy scene. We used adjusted it's shadows/highlights in "Adobe photoshop Cs6".
This picture is from the "apple scene". We decide to make this one as the CD's cover as it looks perfect on the CD. The purpose of turning it into black & white is because it gives the feeling of depression and sadness. For this picture we used "angled strokes".
After editing all the selected pictures, now was the time to adjust them. For that, we simply selected the image and then by going in "edit > paste special > paste into, the picture finally adjusts into the selected portion.
In order to create the CD hole, we used rulers & guides, which helped us to make the perfect circle.
In the above picture, we finally adjusted all our pictures and now was the time to add the text over it.
For the back cover,by following the conventions, we adjusted the bar-code at the left bottom and wrote the names of the "team members" and the "cast" along with the songs name which was "No Promises" and it's time duration. "Drop shadows" and "outer glow" was used in order to enhance the texts.
For the front cover, we used the main leads individual picture and we took the inspiration from the "Taylor Swifts" album cover "fearless". By downloading the "Arty signature" from the internet, we added the singers name along with the songs name and gave the "inner glow" and "drop shadow effect" so that the text stands out. Maroon color was used to write the singers name "Mashaal" as it complements with her red dress.
According to the conventions, the same "arty signature" was put up right in the center of the CD cover along with the DVD logo and anti-piracy warnings and rights were added at the right side of the picture vertically on a white rectangle and we decreased the rectangles opacity so that the maroon text stands out.

Re-shoot , Final music video

This is the whole set up where we recorded the whole scene. Iqra is putting "vicks" under the eye of the actress in order to bring the tears in her eyes. Where as on the other hand, the camera was set up on the tripod as the scenes were "static" and we used 50mm lens. The camera settings were at: shutter speed 1/50, ISO 400. "Snoot" was set up in front of the studio light with was directly pointing at the subject and thus produced the low key effect which was our requirement.

So after facing all the criticisms, we went for re- shooting, which was the female version. In the above picture Sayera is doing Mashaal's (the actress) makeup. The makeup was simple as we were showing the artist sad, missing her ex-boyfriend.

Now for the shoot, since we wanted to show the artist sadly, we planned on shooting it in a "low key" lighting and for that we needed a black backdrop. In the above picture, Iqra is setting up the black velvet backdrop in our media lab.

The starting of the music video starts with the actress sitting with the pictures and the guitar and missing the ex-boyfriend terribly. Here is the picture I'm wiping up all the dirt from the black velvet so that it looks clean.

Here is the picture of our actress who is dressed up in red dress. The purpose of red dress is basically to show the emotions and passion and also the color red stands out in front of the black backdrop.

Premiere Video

After showing our faculty our final video, we heard a lot of criticism. It was mostly about the lip sync problem, as our main lead or artist couldn't get the lyrics right. He was also very expressionless, as our Headmistress said. We, as a group, took the criticism with positivity and listened to everything they had to say. Our principal, explained to us that everything in the video was on point, except the main lead's acting. Because of that our marks will stoop low. So we decided to take in all the criticism and share the video on Facebook (most popular social networking site) that very night to gain everyone else's feedback. Even then, we received the exact same criticism of our artist's acting and lip sync problem. Therefore, we made the final decision of re-shooting the "present scene". And then came another problem, our artist had gone to Dubai and we did not have time to wait for him so we decided to change the story line to the "female" lead missing the male lead. So we are now planning to shoot with Mashaal (our actress) the very "present" scene where she will be missing her ex-boyfriend.

Music video premiere on Valentines day (part 2)

In the above collage, in the first picture Sayera is dressing our actress, giving her final touches so that we can start the shoot. In the second picture Saad and I am setting up the camera settings which were: ISO at 800, shutter speed at 1/50 and f2. A single light was bounced on the ceiling. In the third picture Iqra is taking the shot, which was simple "panning" of a conference going on and after that by using a "50mm" lens, we took a close up happy scene of the actress "Katherine".

Music video premiere on Valentines day (Part 1)

As we planned to premiere our "music video" on the 14th so before that, today in the morning we showed our music video to our school faculty (principle, head mistress, etc). They appreciated us,but also gave us the feedback, positive as well as negative such as the acting of the lead singer could have been much better and at a few places we faced lip sync issues. They loved the camera movements and shots and wished us a good luck for our best grade.

shoot day 4

And yet again Sayera amazingly did Mashaal's makeup and this time made a bun out of her hair and dressed her up in a red dress in order to give a formal, glamour and mature look.

Finally our last day of shoot was here. This was the "piano" scene. The mise-en-scene was basically focused around the artist playing the piano, sad and imagining his girlfriend.

We had to hand a studio light with a rope in the gallery above the piano set.
